About

Sanjay Dharwadker

I am a writer of fiction and non-fiction.

Born in Naya Nangal, Punjab, and educated at schools in Delhi and Jaipur, I earned a Master’s degree in Pure Mathematics from BITS Pilani Rajasthan. My professional career has spanned three continents and a range of technologies, where I sometimes worked as a technical expert, sometimes as a salesman for computer software, semi-conductors and biometrics.

Together with my partner Kippy, I spend most of my time currently between Johannesburg, South Africa, and Copenhagen, Denmark, enjoying a good game of Bridge and traveling the rest of the world.

My interests and life experiences flow into my writing, and so you will find a lot of the following themes across my novels, short stories and essays:

  • Technology
  • Travel
  • Society
  • History
  • Identity Management

My first novel ‘Diamond In My Palm’ connects historic accounts of India with travel and technology. I also wrote two fictional short stories, published on the Crime Writers’ Association website.

Sometimes I use humor to explore the above topics, while my essays are often related to biometric technology and identity management, i.e. policy behind ID cards, registration and human rights.

For the book release of my first novel, Diamond in My Palm, I was honored to hand H.E. Ambassador Rajamony a copy.

This website was designed by Anna Gallinat (Stricksinn).
